2025 Wrapped

From Bold Moments to Major Milestones

As 2025 comes to a close, we’re looking back on a year defined by ambition, curiosity, and meaningful collaboration. From bold acquisitions to thoughtful long-term collecting, this year’s projects reflected a shared belief in art as something lived with, not simply displayed. Our 2025 Wrapped offers a snapshot of the moments, movements, and milestones that shaped the year for RRFA and the collectors who trust us to guide their vision.

IFPDA New York, Rashid Johnson, Untitled (Large Mosaic), 2025, 293-color screenprint with collage, wood veneer, paper pulp, and mirrored mylar on Saunders Waerford 425, Ed. of 36, 61 x 105 inches, Hauser & Wirth Booth.

This year, scale was the story. With clients embracing expansive walls and bold interiors, large works took centre stage—from Josh Sperling’s sculptural playfulness to nature-driven photographs by Vik Muniz and Sarah Anne Johnson. We were also proud to place a large-scale Rashid Johnson edition—an ambitious work by an artist whose profile was further elevated by a major Guggenheim exhibition this year. Our collectors weren’t shy about making a statement, and it’s the purest expression of what it means to live with art, not just hang it.

Josh Sperling, Party Animal, 2025, Acrylic on canvas & panel, 55 1/10 x 90 1/5 inches.

Vik Muniz, Tree (Scraps), 2024, Archival inkjet print, Ed. of 6, 63 x 94 3/4 inches.

2025 was a year of expanding perspectives, as we encouraged clients to think beyond the single-artwork wall. Fashion-forward photography groupings, a playful Derrick Adams series, and a number of striking diptychs and triptychs added depth, dialogue, and a curated sensibility to spaces that began to function as true gallery environments.

While we continue to champion Canada’s art-historical pillars—from the Group of Seven to Riopelle and Les Automatistes—we witnessed a growing appetite for the artists shaping today’s cultural landscape. Collectors gravitated toward emerging contemporary voices, from the meticulous photorealism of Katherine Curci to Dan Climan’s retro-tinged, flat-planed compositions.

Our commitment to staying embedded in the art world took us far and wide this year. We led four curated art tours—including the ADAC Art Hop and a particularly memorable journey in Bentonville—attended 15 art fairs across Toronto, Montreal, New York, and Miami, and immersed ourselves in countless vernissages, studio visits, and panel discussions. Being present in these spaces enriches our relationships with artists and galleries, ultimately leading to more meaningful placements for our collectors.

None of this would be possible without our clients, collaborators, and followers. Your trust, curiosity, and willingness to take creative risks continue to shape everything we do, and we’re deeply grateful for it. As we look ahead to the new year, we’d love to hear from you—whether you’re dreaming up a new project, refining an existing collection, or simply beginning the conversation.
